Testimonials

Whitney had the energy I needed during my 24 hour labor. I originally wanted a doula to assist my husband with the laboring of our first child. But, we both gained so much more support and knowledge prior to and during the process.

She helped us tremendously with our birth plan. She had us answering questions we had already forgotten from our birthing class. I felt reassurance that I would not have to be as stressed out trying to remember everything.

Whitney is no weak person. She was in there with my husband when I was in pain, and helped relieve contraction and back pain when it was the most grueling.

Whitney also took beautiful photos of our labor that I will cherish forever. This was not something we expected, but grateful she just wanted to jump in and take them.

Throughout the time she kept reminding me, "Lisa, here are your options...," and "Is this what you want to do?" She let me know that I was in control of what was controllable, and never once led me down the wrong path.

Whitney does what she does because she truly loves it and cares for the parents and unborn child. You see it in her personality, smile and energy. That energy is what my husband and I needed during the most scariest and precious time of our lives. We would most definately enjoy Whitney's time and dedication agian when we plan for our second child.

After the birth of my daughter, one of the first things I did was write a letter to Whitney. In my letter I told her that in the critical seconds before my daughter made her debut Whitney's physical, emotional, and mental support is the only thing I remember. Whitney's encouraging and smiling face is forever linked with the most awesome and powerful moment of my life.  When I felt weak, she encouraged me to persevere, when I was scared, she was a calming presence (and made me laugh!), when I was confused, she provided information and clarity. She communicated effectively with the rest of my birth team and ensured that our birth plan and preferences were honored.

Her experience as a mother, an L&D nurse, and as a witness of countless births combined with her gentle spirit, enthusiasm, and passion for birth is invaluable.  Whitney knows birth from every angle - someone who has experienced it firsthand, as an L&D nurse, and as a passionate supporter of mothers - and I can recommend her 1000%.

Whitney is a rockstar and anyone who is lucky enough to have her present at their birth is lucky (and smart!).

My Name is Melissa Dedon my husband and I recently had the best birth experince this is my second child with Whitney Patterson. She was excellent ..my frist birth didn't go as planned.. from going from a waterbirth to a c section due to complications ..I wanted to have a v -bac. I believe that I was able to do so with Whitney's help.

It was pretty late in pregancy when we chose to have her she was able to work with us anyway though. I couldn't go into labor being in prodromal labor for two weeks and then going past my due date 5 days. She came to my home and showed me different positions to help speed things up and just showed so much support.. I was able to talk and text her when I was feeling low or having problems. When I went into labor she was not able to be there for a short while instead of just leaving us hanging when we really needed someone there at the hositpal ..she sent a back up doula who was great that meant alot it really made the diiference to both my husband and I that we could know we would be cared for no matter what someone to fall back on.

While in natural labor with no meds like I prefered she helped soothe and support me and my husband.. She was able to bring her oil diffuser and oils to help my pressure and to get through those tough contractions..along with caring words and touch I so needed in those moments when it was really hard.

When my baby finally arrived she stayed afterwards to make sure I was taken care of and was able to hold my baby it was so emotional in a good way. I'm so glad she was there! I would refer her a million times over! She really loves what she does and has a passion for it! A few weeks later she came and visited me and made sure I was healing and taking care of my baby and myself! The most important thing. I had a healthy baby and a wonderful safe labor/birth. I will have Whitney again as my doula if I have another baby. I've gained a friend not just a doula.

It was my pleasure to work alongside Whitney as her doula client's labor nurse. Whitney is a natural doula ... she combines holistic, loving care with sharp knowledge and strong support. She's the perfect balance between gentle and tough ... she will make you feel comfortable and safe, but she will help push you past your comfort zone to achieve your goals for your labor and birth. She is a wonderful addition to any birth team and worth every penny!
