Services

Free Consultation

I will meet with your partner and you so that we can get to know each other and discuss your priorities and hopes for your birth. At this meeting, I will also be able to answer any questions and address any concerns your partner or you may have about hiring a doula to attend your birth.

Phone & Email Support

Once you hire me as your doula, I will be available to you between the hours of 10 am and 7 pm via phone, text, or email to answer questions and help in whatever way I can as you progress in your pregnancy.

Prenatal Visits

I prefer to meet with my clients prior to the start of labor to strengthen our relationship.

It is best to meet once to get to know you and again to review your birth plan with your partner and you in your home.

Labor Support

I am on call for your birth 24/7 from the time you reach 38 weeks until you deliver.

I maintain constant communication with your partner and you during early labor to provide support and suggest comfort measures. We will determine together when I need to come be with you once you are in active labor or are in need of more hands on support.

Baby’s first feeding Support

Part of my services includes supporting you as you bond with your baby for the first time. I have ample experience assisting mothers with breastfeeding and can offer you support as you begin your journey.

Postpartum follow-up visit

Included in my fee is one postpartum visit. This usually occurs before your baby's two week birthday. At this visit I can assist with any breastfeeding needs and answer questions regarding your postpartum recovery.

Community Referrals

If you are in need of assistance with something that is outside my scope of practice, I will provide you with a trusted referral for that service.

As a Doula, I Do Not:

Give medical advice

As your doula I will not perform any medical assessments such as: vaginal exams, fetal heart monitoring, and vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature).

I will not give you medical advice or diagnose any condition.

Make decisions for you

I am often asked, "What would you do?" The fact is it doesn't matter what I would do. I want to empower you with evidence-based information so you can make the decision that is best for your family.

Speak to the staff on your behalf

It is a misconception that doulas will speak on your behalf to voice your wishes and concerns.  I am able to discuss evidence-based pros and cons involved in a difficult decision. However, it is not my place to speak on your behalf.

You've got the power!

Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience

I do not expect you to hold the exact same beliefs as I do about birth that I do and I certainly will not project my feelings onto you and your experience. I will give you factual information and leave my own personal beliefs and bias behind.
